A rearrangement of the slow movement from Beethoven’s Spring Sonata No. 5 Op. 24. It was the first piece I recorded for this album. I had played it for my grade 8 exam years before, but at the time of recording it no one was telling me how to play it, and it is not perfect but expresses me. I transcribed the piano part into plucking instruments, which I felt added to the delicacy of the piece as did the added strings and choir add to its power and depth. (Cello pizzicato: Laetitia van Wyk).
(Although many of the instruments on the album are not real, it took a lot of work and skill to make everything sound musical).
